Some exciting news was released today when Disney announced via Twitter that the next full-length original feature from Pixar Animation Studios would be released into theaters on March 6, 2020.
As of the date of the announcement, the simply plot description for this new film on IMDB reads, "Set in a suburban fantasy world, two teenage elf brothers embark on a quest to discover if there is still magic out there."
In an interview posted on IMDB, Onward director Dan Scanlon says, "In the film, we're going to tell the story of two teenage elf brothers whose father died when they were too young to remember him. But thanks to the little magic still left in the world, the boys embark on a quest that will allow them a chance to spend one last magical day with their father."
Onward will feature the voice talent of Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer. Disney and Pixar fans will recall Julia Louis-Dreyfus' previous voice work on Pixar's A Bug's Life back in 1998.
Octavia Spencer last worked with Disney when she performed as the voice of Mrs. Otterton in Zootopia in 2016.
Chris Pratt has worked extensively with Disney on the Guardians of the Galaxy films and like Tom Holland, has also been a big part of the Avengers franchise.
I know what we'll be watching in the theatre that Spring Break!
