Choose Your Walt Disney World Tickets

There are a lot of different options for purchasing your Walt Disney World tickets for your next visit. Fortunately, I’m here to help you decide which ticket type to add to your Walt Disney World vacation package. Duration of use is just one feature to consider, and I hope this post will help you decode which Walt Disney World tickets would work best for you. After reading this post, you should be able to decide which ticket is best for you and your family.

Base Tickets

A base ticket gives you entrance to one of Walt Disney World’s theme parks, per day. You can purchase several days’ worth of visits into Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and EPCOT. The price can vary depending on what time of year you plan to visit. If you’re just planning on just getting a taste of Walt Disney World by visiting for one day, then your ticket is only good for use on that one day. If you’re choosing a base ticket for several days, your tickets will be valid for use during a specific period of time that starts with your first date of use. This time period varies depending on the number of days your ticket is valid for. (Theme park reservations are required for visits until January 8, 2024.)

You may exit and re-enter the same park within the same day with this ticket type.

Walt Disney World Tickets with Park Hopper

Walt Disney World tickets with the park hopper feature allow you to visit more than one theme park in the same day. I love this option because we like to pop into EPCOT for meals after spending a morning riding attractions at Magic Kingdom or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, for example. The park hopper option will also give you access to the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks for a specific period of time, starting with the first date of use, depending on the number days you’ve purchased. This time period also varies depending on the number of days your ticket is valid for.

Walt Disney World Tickets with Park Hopper Plus

A ticket with park hopper plus option gives you all of the options above but also allows your family entrance into the Disney water parks and other attractions in addition to the four classic theme parks. This category of ticket also extends the number of days in which you can use your tickets by one day. Bonus!

Let’s say you’ve got 4-day theme tickets with Park Hopper Plus. This gives your family four additional entries into the Disney water parks, mini-golf, ESPN Wide World of Sports and more!

Water Park and Sports Option

With this ticket option, you get a certain number of visits to other Walt Disney World fun based on the length of your ticket. For example, a 5-day ticket allows 5 visits and a 6-day ticket allows 6 visits. This ticket type does not include the park hopper feature. This is in addition to the four main theme parks. For each visit, you can choose one of the following:

  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park
  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
  • ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (although I don’t think I’ve ever had a client visit here)
  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course
  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course Foot Golf
  • Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf
  • Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course

Your Best Bet

The biggest advantage to allowing me to put together your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is that your stay automatically extends the Walt Disney World ticket validity dates throughout which you can use your theme park tickets. For example, if your seven-night resort stay package includes 4-day theme park tickets, your tickets can be used for any four days within that seven day period.

There are a lot of different ways you can combine your resort stay and Walt Disney World Resort tickets. This is just one of the many reasons it’s a great idea to use a Vacation Specialist who knows all of the ins and outs of how Walt Disney World resort accommodations and theme park tickets work together to create the most memorable and magical vacation experience available for your family!
